Badminton, Masayuki Kimura And The Mob Museum

The Russian Defense Ministry is adding badminton to the physical exercise program of its soldiers, believing that it will help strengthen the muscles needed for throwing grenades and knives more accurately.

Masayuki Kimura is the owner of a traditional sweet shop in Rikuzentakata, Japan who is trying to start over. His shop was swept away the tsunami that occurred on March 11 this year. One of the items the locals are looking forward to eating again is the ganzuki, a sweetened steam bread wth the texture of chewy pancakes.

The 1950 Kefauver hearings on organized crime were held in a former Las Vegas federal courthouse that is set to re-open on Valentine’s Day 2012 as The Mob Museum.
