Lonely Hearts Club In Shanghai, Sequoia And Charlie Hebdo

IKEA’s cafeteria in Shanghai’s Xuhui district is a favored place among single retirees for curing a lonely heart.

Sequoia is the name of IBM’s supercomputer that can perform 20 petaflops. A petaflop is equal to a thousand trillion floating point operations per second. The computer is located at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, California, and among the supercomputers being used for nuclear testing.

Charlie Hebdo is a French weekly satirical magazine whose Paris headquarters were hallowed out by what the magazine’s editor called a firebomb. The reason? An image of the Prophet Mohammed appeared on the cover with a “100 lashes if you don’t die of laughter,” inside a speech bubble, saying Mohammed was a guest-editor for the issue.
