Humpbacks And Orcas

Though Humpback whales are known to sing primarily to attract mates, recent research indicates they also sing to communicate locations. Government estimates put the number of whales before commercialized whaling at 15,000, and just 1,000 – 1,200 today.

Each killer whale (Orca) has two distinct call signs, as well as a regional dialect producing variations in sound depending on their geographical distribution.
